2009 World Red Cross Day Event Friday May 8th

The American Red Cross chapters in the Washington, DC Region have partnered in planning this significant celebration. It’s a time to recognize the Red Cross’ efforts in disaster relief services and life-saving education and training for people around the world.

Presentations feature Linda Mathes, CEO of the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region, representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross, the American Red Cross Holocaust & War Victims Tracing Center, the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees and the Peace Corps.

This event is open to the public. There will be live entertainment. Refreshments will be served.

Additional volunteers are still needed for this event. These are the areas of need: Event Preparation; Exhibit Booths; Building Escorts; Refreshments; or Event Clean-up.
