Volunteering is Good for the Soul

April 24, 2009

National Volunteer Week (April 19 – 25) not only recognizes volunteer work but it’s also a call-to-action for more people to volunteer!

American Red Cross of the National Capital Area needs more volunteers!

We support over 3 million people in our National Capital Area. We need more volunteers to help us educate our community about the urgent importance of training in Healthy & Safety and Community Disaster Education.

We cannot wait for a disaster to happen.

Now is the time to prepare.

Preparedness increases the chance of survival and recovery in the event of a life-threatening emergency or disaster.

When we help educate, equip, and empower more people, they in turn can help others.

Volunteering not only allows people to experience what it’s like to help others but it also increases their well being.
