Lincoln Memorial Rededication Event May 30th

This year celebrates Abraham Lincoln’s bicentennial birthday.

American Red Cross of the National Capital Area assists with public safety support at this event in Washington, DC. Thousands are expected to be in attendance. Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) and trained volunteers will be placed throughout the surrounding Lincoln Memorial area.

2009 World Red Cross Day Event Friday May 8th

The American Red Cross chapters in the Washington, DC Region have partnered in planning this significant celebration. It’s a time to recognize the Red Cross’ efforts in disaster relief services and life-saving education and training for people around the world.

Presentations feature Linda Mathes, CEO of the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region, representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross, the American Red Cross Holocaust & War Victims Tracing Center, the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees and the Peace Corps.

Community Event Celebrates Red Cross Month in Herndon Sat. Mar. 21

Families can learn more about the Red Cross during the National Capital Area Chapter’s community event hosted by Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center, 1018 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170. Between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. a variety of activities will be offered: adults and children can attend presentations and classes (pre-registration may be required); sign-up to become a volunteer (pre-registration required); tours of the Emergency Response Vehicle throughout the day and more!
