The Red Cross has a long-standing history of supporting service men and women and their families.

When a family is getting ready to see their loved one leave to serve a tour far from home, the Red Cross provides resources to help the entire family with the transition.

When a spouse waiting at home has urgent news regarding their unborn child or a service man or woman needs to rush home for a family emergency, the Red Cross is there to help.

When a wounded service man or woman returns from their tour overseas and arrives on American soil for the first time, the Red Cross is there to welcome them home.

Also, during this time of year, the American Red Cross coordinates Holiday Mail for Heroes. This is a wonderful opportunity to send cards of thanks and well wishes to our service men and women, and to share some joy and hope to those who are unable to be home during the holidays.

“I am honored and thrilled to be part of this program. The service that our military men and women provide this country year-round is invaluable and I feel it especially important to give thanks for their sacrifices during the holiday season.”  – Amy Grant, Pop Singer and Songwriter
